Oakland, Calif., December 6, 2007 – Scientific Learning Corporation (NASDAQ: SCIL), makers of the Fast ForWord® educational software that accelerates learning by developing the student brain to process more efficiently, today announced that D. Andrew Myers will be joining the company as President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2008.
Mr. Myers, who most recently served as Senior Vice President Digital Product Development of Pearson Curriculum, brings over 10 years of high-level general management, sales and marketing experience to his new position. He will assume the leadership and management responsibilities for the K-12 business for Scientific Learning. He will report to CEO Robert C. Bowen and will become an officer and a member of the Scientific Learning senior management team.

Mr. Myers is a graduate of the prestigious Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to his M.B.A., he holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Robert C. Bowen, who has served as Scientific Learning’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 2002, will remain in those posts, and has agreed to extend his employment agreement with the company for an additional two years, until June 2010.
