Oakland, CA, July 26, 2007—Scientific Learning Corp. (NASDAQ: SCIL) announced today that Michael A. Moses and Lance R. Odden have joined its board of directors. Dr. Moses was also named Vice Chairman of the board of directors. Scientific Learning creates educational software that accelerates learning by developing the student brain to process more efficiently.

According to Robert Bowen, CEO of Scientific Learning, Moses and Odden bring a well-rounded combination of educational, administrative and management experience to the Scientific Learning board. "From classroom teacher to state-level leadership to corporate governance, Mike and Lance have touched nearly every aspect of the education world," said Bowen. "Their deep understanding of the market will help Scientific Learning continue its position at the forefront of improving brain processing efficiency for all students."

A lifelong educator and administrator, Moses is currently chairman of the board for the American College of Education in Chicago, Ill., and a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Educational Administration at Texas A&M University. From 1995 through 1999 Moses was the Commissioner of Education for the state of Texas. He also served as superintendent of four Texas districts including the Dallas Independent School District, and as the deputy chancellor for the Texas Tech University System(TM).

Odden is presently a managing director of New Providence Asset Management Corp., and chair of New Providence's Governance Advisory Board. He also serves as lead director of Irwin Financial Corp. and as an advisor to Warburg Pincus, a private equity investment firm. Odden is a distinguished education administrator, having served for some 30 years as the headmaster of the Taft School; president of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; president of the Headmasters' Association; and a member of the board and executive committee of the National Association of Independent Schools. He has been an advisor to Scientific Learning Corp. since 2003.
